Democratic Candidate for U.S. House of Representatives

Arizona’s Daughter for the 5th Congressional District

Joan Greene grew up in the 5th District, where her childhood was full of cotton fields and the smell of orange groves. Her family’s roots in Arizona are deep: Joan’s grandmother was the second woman ever elected to the Phoenix City Council, and her pediatrician grandfather established a foundation for after-school programs. Her father was a developer in Arizona who instilled in her the importance of responsibility and compassion. From a young age, her family taught her the value of public service and community-building.

Arizona is Joan’s home. She knows this district and its families, and she remembers when elected officials respectfully worked together to faithfully represent the people they were elected to serve.

For over 30 years, Joan has owned and operated a promotional marketing company whose clients have included nonprofits and billion dollar corporations. Joan knows how to work with all kinds of people, and she wants to bring a pragmatic, solutions-oriented leadership approach to Washington D.C.

After running for AZ-05 in 2018, she isn’t done fighting for Arizona. Now more than ever, Joan believes that we need leadership that can put country over party. That’s why she wants to break the partisan gridlock to stop corrupt ideologues from ruling our government at the expense of everyday Americans. In order to move our country forward, we need to elect leaders who can put Arizonans first, not special interests.

One of Joan’s personal passions is animal rescue advocacy. She is a District Leader for the Humane Society of the United States, and has worked with rescue organizations all over the country. Until 2016, her late Golden Retriever, Two-Kee, were part of the East Valley Pet Team and visited folks in hospice care and assisted living facilities. She loves spending time with her pups, Sawyer and Jagger.
